Abstract
Most of the previous research focused on the satisfaction level of clients to measure the quality of nursing care. However, studies of nurses self evaluations on the quality of nursing care they provide have been very rare. In this research, quality of nursing care was evaluated by the caregivers of hospitalized children in the pediatrics ward of a hospital and by nurses themselves. These evaluations were then compared.

The results of this research indicate that the caregivers of hospitalized children evaluated the quality of nursing care as being slightly higher than what the nurses themselves evaluated for their care. In the case of the caregivers of hospitalized children, they believed that they received kind nursing care, and they thought that the nurses expressed sincere interest in the health status of the patients and were encouraging and helpful. The difference was statistically significant but the size of the difference was very small. One of the main limitations of this study was the small number of nurses compared to caregivers.
